    I've shifted about 3 stone (40lb). I'm going to start the ACV. I'm opposite to other people probably, the days where I have to stick to 13 hr or 15 hr fasts I find difficult because they're too short! I can easily do 18-20 on a daily basis.

    I understand the WHY, (Thank you for that) and I do fine with the fasting part ,but I struggle with " Stop Eating When the Sun Goes Down" 😕 My type of work I do I don't have time for a lunch break (sometimes the most is 10 mins) when I drive to go home I'm seeing the sunset . I'm a very calm and Happy person with very Low stress and Love my job, Just don't know how to fix the eating Very Late at night problem. Any suggestions?

      Just wanted to pipe in to offer suggestions. Can you try to have a healthy snack instead of lunch, ie carrots/hummus, nuts, etc. so that when you do eat you're eating a light meal? Are you leaving it 3 hours after eating before sleeping?

      Hi! Dr Mindy's book, Fast Like A Girl, has a good bit of information on the thyroid, but the generalized advice is that longer fasts are not recommended. Fast less frequently and for shorter lengths. Eat nutrient dense food when you eat. Please make your choice based on how you are feeling.     Learning fasting.... She mentions "last food or drink" when eating window closes. Does she mean no water too? So if I end at 7pm there is nothing by mouth until 11am the next morning? Even drinks. Thanks for your tips.

      The major premise of fasting is that we are not eating less, we are eating less often. Compressing our eating window and elongating our fasting window. The fasting window is where the healing happens. If you do not want to lose weight, you need to eat in your eating window even if you are not hungry. Eat nutrient dense foods. Lots of protein to build up amino acids. More fat, more protein, and more of nature's carbs. Fruits, berries, bananas, etc. Eat more of it in your eating window and vary your fasts. 💙 Dr Mindy's Team

    I’m curious because I don’t have any issues the week before my period, but after I get my period, a few days in, it’s pure Hell (fatigue, brain fog, carb cravings, cramps). Should I do your “nurturing” phase into my actual period? I just finished reading Fast Like a Girl and am obsessed! Thank you!! 😊

      There are different variations of fasting and eating. You choose which one works best for your goals. Science has changed since Dr Mindy wrote her book. We still say that 50-75gm protein is best for weight loss while you're learning to become metabolically flexible. Once you accomplish that, then you can move on to adding protein = adding muscle. It's really individual, because while a man could eat 100gm of protein in a steak in one sitting and their body can use all of that where a 55 year old menopausal woman cannot, some of that protein would likely be converted to fat. 💙 Dr Mindy's Team

    Do these principles apply only to those who are pre-menopausal? I get so confused with who you’re addressing…and you often address NOT staying with a particular length (ie. 17 hours) for any length of time because our body will get used to it
